It’s hard to believe that it has been 10 years since John F. Kennedy Jr’s plane crashed, killing him, his wife Carolyn Bessette and her sister Lauren. It seems like only yesterday that it happened.

Thinking about this makes me wonder about the What If’s. For instance, what if he had not died – what kinds of things would he have accomplished. He always seemed like an intelligent young man who cared about people.
Would he have gone into politics? Personally, I think he would have at some point. The Kennedy pressure would have been great for him to run for office, and he and his wife certainly had the “look” – a beautiful, stylish couple. Barack Obama might have had some stiff competition for the Presidential nomination!
In any case, three young lives were lost way too soon, and their possible accomplishments will never be known. So very sad.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of JFK, Jr.

10th Anniversary – JFK Jr.’s Death — 2 Comments

  1. It’s still so hard to believe that he’s gone. I remember when it happened, thinking that I was glad Jackie didn’t have to experience this loss. Just incredibly sad.

  2. I cried so much for John not knowing that the same day June 16th 1999 my brother took his life. We found his body after 2 weeks.
I will never forget this day
